2 weeks agoWe came here because we were in town for a game, place was quiet but very clean automatically got asked what I needed.. The woman taking my order was super sweet we got the brisket Ala carte.. went to do a little shopping and it was ready when we got back my only gripe was we didnt get bbq sauce with it I guess it was extra and we didnt know that.. the brisket was great and worth the $$$.. all and all a great place next time you are in town check it out!!

3 weeks agoIn Ottumwa on a business trip and found this place on a whim. Could not be happier with what I had for dinner tonight. I feel like a TANK post-grub!!! I started off the meal with Bubba’s Firecracker Fries which were perfect and had just the right amount of kick to them. For the main event, I went with the brisket sandwich (sliced) accompanied w/mac & cheese and the flavor was OFF THE CHARTS. When Bubba said he leaves a little fat for flavor, he MEANT it! If I’m ever in town again I will definitely be stopping here again. You can’t go wrong stopping here to eat, come get some grub at Bubba Q’s!!!

3 weeks agoWOW, WOW, WOW! I have heard tales of this place in Ottumwa, Iowa, so in my travels from Wisconsin to Wyoming, I decided to take a small detour. Let me tell you, it was more than worth it. The atmosphere and the stories behind it are inspiring! The staff and high level of service make you feel like family, and the food...well...I can see why it's award winning! House made bbq sauces, cherry wood smoked meats, flatbreads, smoked bloody mary....I can't eat enough or say enough!!! Thank you for the amazing experience Bubba Q's, and thank you for your pride and commitment to serving people! YOU HAVE TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT 😀

a month agoGood friend brought me here and hyped it up the whole way "best BBQ in Iowa" I've had very good BBQ across this state so I my expectations were very high. No question best BBQ in Iowa. Absolutely delicious. You simply must stop in if you are in town

3 months agoExcellent food everything tasted good and large portions so that it comes home in a box for the next meal. Prices are pretty much high enough but expected 50 for two but ended up $60 with tip but it's worth it. Our waitress was very good and we asked if they did anything special for anniversarys she said no but she got a dessert for us on the house. To me that says they care about their customers. 3 months agoI had a Philly steak pasta with white sauce that had NO BUSINESS being as good as it was! I went back for a pork loin that was an inch and a half thick which had NO BUSINESS being as juicy and tasty as it was. This unassuming mall restaurant punches way above its weight, and the dinner is well worth your time.

4 months agoWe are from out of town and have heard from locals that this is the place to eat. We were not disappointed in the slightest! Absolutely no wait (although the place was almost full), awesome atmosphere, and the friendliest staff. Our server, Vicky, left nothing to be desired! She was the most attentive, efficient, and knowledgeable waitress you could ask for! We did a sampling of the menu and tried the chicken, brisket, burnt ends, and the burger. All the meat was consistently tender, juicy, and fresh. The burnt ends and chicken in particular were standouts and soft as butter. We tried the banana pudding, chocolate cake, and the Apple pastry dessert, all of which blew us away! Overall, some of the best food, dessert, and service we've had in years. If you're a local, I'm jealous and if you're just passing through, you absolutely must stop at this "hidden" gem!

8 months agoBeen here 2 or 3 times over the past couple of years when we're in the area. NEVER disappointed in their service and quality. I've tried something different every time and it's always slap yo grandma good. Keep it up Bubba!
